эта старая улица упирается в крепостную стену. сейчас (вечером) она безлюдная, но к ночи здесь, говорят, наиболее злачное место.
городскую стену потихоньку реставрируют и намерены отреставрировать полностью. но пока остаются и такие нетронутые кусочки.
старое и новое: пока сохраняется тот принцип их состыковки, который унаследован от 19 века.
а это, наоборот, самая цивильная часть стены, давно отреставрированная. в башенке -- очень приятный музей.
мэрия. вот такое слегка вычурное здание ок. 1900 года постройки (чуть раньше, наверное).
один из корпусов местного университета. мне он понравился за конструктивизм.
а это просто главное здание университета, по соседству с предыдущим.
герб Стефана Батория над дверью принадлежавшего ему дома.
опять улочка в историческом -- наиболее историческом -- центре.
а это дом, в котором родился в 1443 году великий король Венгрии Матвей Корвин -- последний рыцарь сволочной Европы 15 века,которая всё продула туркам. между прочим, родился он тут совершенно случайно: мама его надеялась дотянуть до родной Венгрии, но пришлось рожать в гостях.
я тут оказался вечером, когда какая-то местная группа свой рок-концерт уже отыграла. здесь как бы главная неформальная эстрада старого города. огоньки перед эстрадой -- это свечки, вроде тех, что обычно приносят на кладбища :-)

а вообще это всё вариации прекрасной Австро-Венгрии.

The Hungarian form, first recorded in 1246 as Kulusuar, underwent various phonetic changes over the years (uar/vár means "castle" in Hungarian); the variant Koloswar first appears in a document from 1332.[19] Its Saxon name Clusenburg/Clusenbvrg appeared in 1348, but from 1408 the form Clausenburg was used. Although the precise date of the conquest of Transylvania by the Hungarians is not known, the earliest Hungarian artifacts found in the region are dated to the first half of the 10th century.[28] In any case, after that time, the city became part of the Kingdom of Hungary. King Stephen I made the city the seat of the castle county of Kolozs, and King Saint Ladislaus I of Hungary founded the abbey of Cluj-Mănăştur (Kolozsmonostor), destroyed during the Tatar invasions in 1241 and 1285.[17] As for the civilian colony, a castle and a village were built to the northwest of the ancient Napoca no later than the late 12th century.[17] This new village was settled by large groups of Transylvanian Saxons, encouraged during the reign of Crown Prince Stephen, Duke of Transylvania.[29]
