было интересно почитать. но автор не очень убедителен, имхо. он так долго рассуждает про то, что праздник не праздновали, чтобы завершить - праздновали, но праздник был поздним. а для отцов, конечно, sol invictus не было ориентиром, им важна была просто аллегорическая значимость солнца в данный день. а источники он дискредитирует искусственно, особенно схолиаста. из цитат следующее совершенно не очевидно: "It becomes clear that the scholiast is actually attacking the statement by Bar Salibi that Christ was born on December 25th as heresy. He begins by emphatically identifying January 6th as the correct birthday of Christ, stating that the ancients had always celebrated the nativity and epiphany on the same day. He then goes on to discredit the shifting of the nativity to December 25th by portraying it as a tactical move in the struggle to subdue paganism." факты таковы, но оценки... откуда берется, что схолиаст goes on to discredit? он просто констатирует это, ничем не выражая своей враждебности. Сам Хийманс переводит схолиаста так: "the reason why the Church Fathers transposed this feast from January 6 to December 25 is, it is said..." и далее по тексту. все-таки это отцы церкви, икономия. то, что схолиаст считает ересью 25 декабря, возникает у автора статьи на пустом месте. да, верный день 6 января, но отцы так решили из особых побуждений.
